BMW in push to develop world manufacturing sites

German luxury carmaker BMW is believed to be considering the building of plants in Mexico, Slovakia and Hungary.

As reported in Germany's daily newspaper Handelsblatt, company sources have revealed BMW has been looking at the various countries with a view to developing manufacturing centres.

While BMW has not confirmed the report, it has only denied suggestions about a plant being built in Slovakia.

The company has also been rumoured to be thinking about a plant for Brazil, but only if the political climate provides the key to profitability.
