Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], January 20 (ANI): Actor Jackie Shroff advocated afforestation to protect the environment and reduce pollution nationwide.
In an interview with ANI, Jackie Shroff reflected on citizens' responsibilities towards nature, urging them to plant trees for the betterment of future generations.
'People are doing things that should not be done. We should replace what we destroy. It is for our future generations and children. It is not a big deal to plant a tree. If it is not there, then we will not be there,' said Jackie Shroff.
The actor further highlighted that the development should not come at the cost of the environment. He explains that rising pollution and extreme heat are consequences of cutting trees.
'The way people keep crying that pollution is 260, 380 AQI, 280 AQI. Why is it increasing? First of all, you should make progress. It doesn't mean that you should regress. You should make a building. You should make a good building, but the dust from its construction requires trees to control it. That is why I try to explain to the children. At least, I try to make them understand. Greenery is everything, son. Take a breath and plant a tree,' said Jackie Shroff.
Jackie Shroff has often advocated afforestation to his fans and is usually spotted wearing a plant locket around his neck.
On the work front, Jackie Shroff was recently seen in 'Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri', co-starring Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday.
'Tu Meri Main Tera, Main Tera Tu Meri' is presented by Dharma Productions and Namah Pictures, and produced by Karan Johar, Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta, Shareen Mantri Kedia, and Kishor Arora.
In addition to Kartik and Ananya, the film also features Neena Gupta. The film opened in theatres on December 25, 2025. (ANI)
